Some customers may not know much about PVC, so let a professional vinyl flooring manufacturer briefly introduce the classification and specific gravity of PVC!

How is PVC classified?

Soft pvc: soft pvc contains a softener that tends to become brittle and difficult to preserve, so its scope of use is limited. Common soft pvc is generally used in PVC flooring, ceilings and leather surfaces.

Rigid PVC: also known as UPVC, or PVC-U products. Rigid PVC does not contain softeners, so it has good flexibility, easy to form, not brittle, non-toxic and pollution-free, and has a long storage time, so it has great development and application value. It has a wide range of applications: pipeline industry, water supply and drainage, flame-retardant cable casing, electrical appliances, flame-retardant switch housings, sockets, profiles, plastic steel, bumpers, etc.

Specific gravity of PVC pellets

The specific gravity of PVC pellets generally ranges from 1.25 to 2 or even higher than 2, so what is the use of PVC specific gravity, and how to choose for customers?

From the perspective of soft material and hard material, usually the density of soft material is about 1.25-1.8, and the specific gravity of hard material is above 1.36-2. From the perspective of product performance, usually the density is low and the quality performance is high. So why do some people still choose pvc particles with large specific weight? This is caused by the special requirements of some products. For example, some product application manufacturers require that the product must reach a certain weight to meet its use requirements. The specific gravity of the material cannot meet its requirements.

Shrinkage rate of soft and hard PVC

The shrinkage rate of soft PVC is 0.8-1.3%

The shrinkage rate of rigid PVC is 0.3-0.5%

PVC is polyvinyl chloride, a plastic product synthesized from 43% oil and 57% salt. Compared with other types of plastic products, PVC uses raw materials more effectively and reduces fuel consumption. At the same time, the energy consumption of PVC manufacturing is also very low.
