Three processing methods for joint construction of PVC plastic floor

Installing PVC flooring, seams are one of the processes in the installation process. When learning about PVC flooring products, it is not difficult to find that sheet flooring is different from coiled flooring, one of which is that coiled flooring can be seamlessly connected through professional technology.

However, in fact, there are many ways to deal with the seams during PVC floor installation. Generally, there are three kinds of seam stitching, cold welding, and hot-melt welding. This article will introduce the processing methods of these three seams one by one.

The first thing to introduce is the way of seam stitching.

The general operation of this treatment method is: when laying the floor, the edges of the two floors should overlap by about 20mm, and then cut them neatly with a knife to form a dense joint. In this seam treatment, the two sides of the seam are not linked together.

Advantages: The seams of tight stitching are usually less than 1mm, and the seams are not easy to be noticed.

Disadvantages: The seams will seep water, and it is easy to warp and accumulate dust after a long time of use.

This kind of seam can achieve a good decorative effect, and is suitable for places where the antibacterial requirements are not high and the use environment does not accumulate water.

Then I want to introduce the processing method of cold welding such seams.

The general operation of this treatment method is: after the floor is laid, use cold solder paste or cold welding liquid to cold weld the seam of the floor. Cold welding is the even fusion of both sides of the floor seam.

Advantages: cold welds have no color, and the seams are not easy to be noticed.

Disadvantages: high construction difficulty.

Cold soldering liquid is suitable for PVC floors with narrow seams (below 1mm); cold solder paste is suitable for PVC floors with wide seams (below 4mm).

The last thing to introduce is the seam treatment method of hot melt welding.

The general operation of this treatment method is: after the floor is laid, use the special welding rod corresponding to the floor material, and adjust the temperature of the heat welding according to the type of the floor material, so that the two sides of the floor joint are evenly fused.

Pros: Welding wires of different colors can be used to accentuate the effect of the seams.

Disadvantages: The welding wire is easy to crack and fall off after a long time of use.

For heat-welded seams, the gap width is between 3 and 4mm, elastic floor coils, PVC plastic floors, ESD homogeneous floor coils and sheets can all be thermally welded.
