How does the flooring company test the wear resistance of the floor?

It turns out that the wear resistance of PVC flooring is also graded.

The reason why the wear-resistant floor is called wear-resistant floor is not because it looks like wear-resistant floor, so it is called wear-resistant floor, nor is it called wear-resistant floor because the floor feels like wear-resistant floor, let alone because Subjectively think it is a wear-resistant floor, so it is called a wear-resistant floor.

Then, why the wear-resistant floor is called wear-resistant floor, it is determined by the performance of the floor, and the wear-resistant floor is more wear-resistant than ordinary floors.

The performance of wear resistance is also graded. The wear resistance grade of PVC floor can generally be divided into four grades, namely:

T grade P grade M grade F grade. The order of these four grades is T grade > P grade > M grade > F grade, which means that the wear resistance of T grade is the best among these grades.

How is the wear resistance level calculated?

The test method for the wear resistance level of PVC flooring that the flooring company will use:

The wear resistance level of PVC flooring is based on the test method of EN 660-2: Weigh the sample with an accuracy of ±0.1mg. Grind a sample for 5000 revolutions, pause and weigh after every 1000 revolutions, and test the other 2 samples. If the first sample is worn out during 5000 revolutions, exclude and test the remaining 2 samples at 200 revolutions per cycle until 2000 revolutions or the sample is worn out and stopped. Calculate the average mass loss. Fm, expressed in mg/100 revolutions, Fm=Ftot/n*100 calculates the mass loss value of each sample at 100 revolutions as follows: Fv=Fm/ρ, loss value Fv(mm3)/100 revolutions, T level = Fv2.0 , P grade = 2.0Fv4.0, M grade=4.0Fv7.5, F grade=7.5Fv15.0. The above is a professional test method for the wear resistance level of PVC flooring.

In fact, good wear resistance does not mean that the floor is durable, nor does it mean the life of the floor. Wear resistance only means that the floor is not so easy to wear and tear compared with other floors. Compared with ordinary floors, Wear-resistant flooring can be better suitable for some places with relatively large flow of people.

The thickness of the wear-resistant layer of PVC flooring can also be divided into various thicknesses, because PVC flooring replaces LVT flooring, SPC flooring, WPC flooring, LVP flooring, etc., and the structure of each product has its own characteristics. Different thicknesses will have a certain impact on the wear resistance of the floor, but this does not mean that the thicker the wear layer of the floor, the better the wear resistance of the floor. It can only be said that the wear resistance of the floor with a high wear layer will be lower. Well, but not absolutely.
